A nautical-themed evening seemed fitting for the Portland Business Journal (PBJ) awards. PBJ invited the top 100 privately-owned companies in Oregon and Southwest Washington to a formal dinner during Portland’s “fleet week.” It was their goal to celebrate each company’s growth, officially announce where they fell on the list, share inspiring stories, and hand out well-deserved awards.
Prior to the award ceremony, PBJ made it easy to get lost in the moment. They dazzled the costume-attired crowd with dancers, games, ice sculptures, and tasty treats scattered across the room. Our Director of Operations, Nic, even got to jump on a machine-operated surfboard and ride a faux wave!
PBJ Awards RDF
As for our rank, RDF had one goal: don’t get a triple-digit rank. And we made it! Our team soaked up our victory for a few minutes when another company came in at 100th place, so when we made our rookie-year list debut at number 99, it almost felt like we were number 1. In some regards, we were! We were the only law firm to make the list, and were reminded of just how much we’ve grown over the last 15 years.
What’s interesting is there was less than 1% difference in growth from ranks 90-100, and yet, it made all the difference. Similar to the Olympics, the smallest fraction can make a huge difference in making the team, earning a medal, or even breaking a world record. Believe it or not, our team faced the same exact issue last year. Our team missed making PBJ’s top 100 list by fractions of a point last year, and landed at spot number 101.
Where RDF Is Headed
Regardless of where we stand on a list, however, our growth allows us to help more people. RDF has always aimed to provide stellar representation, incredible customer service, and assistance beyond the courtroom. We hope to continue to exceed our clients expectations as we serve those who are facing DUI charges in Oregon. Thank you for supporting RDF as we continue to grow. We would also like to thank Portland Business Journal for recognizing how far RDF has come since we opened our doors in 2003.
