Hello, weekend! With the smoke beginning to clear out, you can get our and enjoy some of the events that Portland has to offer this weekend. From attending the “nerdy cool” Comic Con, to moving your body in a 1/2 marathon or color run. For you Timbers fans, the boys travel to Yankee Stadium to play NYCFC this weekend.
September 8th – Oregon Fall 1/2 Marathon
An Oregon Fall event – the Fall Half Marathon are set in the heart of the Willamette Valley – the richest farm area in Oregon. An up and down at the start and finish, and the rest of the course would be called ‘flat’. A great race at a great location – St. Josef’s Winery welcomes you and your personal cheering crowd to the Oregon Fall Half Marathon.
September 8th & 9th – Rose City Comic Con
Portland’s premier pop-culture event, Rose City Comic Con at the Oregon Convention Center is produced locally with a focus on creating a fun and friendly event for everyone! While theprimary focus is that of comics, comic creators, and the creative process, Rose City Comic Con also provides its attendees with access to gaming, sci-fi, cosplay, anime, fantasy, and everything in between. Their goal is to provide you with a rewarding, fun, and family-friendly event experience. Celebrity guests include Weird Al and Dr Who, and there will be great people watching as typically many Comic Con attendees come in costume!
Saturday September 9th – Belmont Street Fair
Belmont Street Fair is a family-friendly event with live music, art, entertainment, shopping, kids activities, food and drink on SE Belmont Street from 33rd to SE 29th.
Saturday September 9th – Portland Timbers vs New York City Football Club (NYCFC)
A pair of contenders attempting to separate themselves from their respective conference packs meet Saturday in the Bronx, where New York City FC host the Portland Timbers. Each team enters carrying an undefeated streak, cheer on your Timbers to be the one that stays that way! Read more about the matchday preview.
Saturday September 9th – Color Run
Dubbed “The Happiest 5K on the Planet” that has been experienced by over 6 million runners worldwide in 35+ countries as it makes its way to Portland this weekend! Wear all white and then get bombarded with colored cornstarch as you run the 5K Color Run at Portland International Raceway.
