March 22 – 23rd – Quilt Festival

Quilt making is part of the proud history of creating vernacular art and is a truly American art form.  Well-made quilts reflect the creative skills of their makers and convey a sense of the time and effort that went into their making. Quilts have always represented community. They reflect who we are and the times in which they were made. Visit the 45th Annual “A Festival of Quilts” this weekend at the Expo Center view some truly gorgeous quilts. Certainly, you’ll be amazed at the mixed media art quilts that almost look like paintings! You can watch demonstrations, shop, enter a raffle to win one of the intricate creations for yourself. Kids will enjoy a treasure hunt and food and beverages will be available. Admission is only $8 and kids 12 and under get in free.

After the success of the 2017 and 2018 screenings, 2019 is sure to be the most popular event ever. The film selection is varied and interesting, an you can take part in the inquisitive and insightful Q&A sessions with the film creators.
