Snow can be pretty magical. It’s suiting then, that this weekend is filled with clowns, magnificent light shows, puppies and fun obstacle courses. We’ve got all the details about the marvelous events, below:
February 7 – 11th – Winter Lights Festival
The Portland Winter Light Festival is an outdoor event that celebrates winter and community through illuminated art installations, vibrant performances, stunning fire sculptures, and highly interactive activities for the whole family. Free and open to everyone, this nighttime festival brings over 100 artists, designers, makers, and performers together to turn the wintering city into a tapestry of light and celebration.
February 7th – 11th – Sportsmen Show
The Pacific Northwest Sportsmen’s Show, presented by Leupold, is the largest sportsmen’s show west of the Mississippi and second largest in the country! The 2019 show is expected to be the best one yet, with dozens of new exhibitors, new features and hundreds of new products that will be introduced at this celebrated and popular show. There will be a boat show, wildlife art, dog training, rustic furniture, camping gear, RVs, ATVs, guides and outfitters, free kids’ trout pond, gold mining, thousands of retail specials and much more. There’s nothing like it and it only comes to Portland once a year for five days. Tickets are $15 for a full day and only $7.50 after 4 p.m.
February 9th – Mud Run
My Muddy Valentine 5k mud run features fun obstacles, mud, music, food and drink at Lee Farms in Tualatin. Couples, families, and friends will come dressed head to toe in hearts, tutu’s, and even a few group costumes ready to take on the muddy terrain. The mud is fresh and racers are ready to challenge their friends and loved ones to an all-out mudfest. My Muddy Valentine is a great course to run your first obstacle race or mud run. The course is rather flat and the obstacles are pretty easy to conquer. A shorter challenge is offered for kids under age 16. If you’re looking for a more competitive edge, My Muddy Valentine has two Elite waves to start the morning and brings out many elite OCR runners. Don’t miss out on all the fun!
