Show the Gorge Some Love – October 2017

The Oregon and Washington Gorge fell victim to a terrible forest fire earlier this year, but now that the fire is under control and I84 is open in both directions, the surrounding communities are inviting people to spend more time in the area.  It doesn’t matter if you’re a visitor or a resident, there’s plenty of activities to do and local business who would appreciate support as the area’s economy and environment continues to recover.  There will also be opportunities to make donations to Gorge-based organizations that will work on restoration and relief efforts.  Bottom line, the Gorge will recover, but there’s plenty of work to be done over the next several months and years.  To Show the Gorge Some Love, all you have to do is support and enjoy the areas that are safe to navigate through.

Superwoman Summit – October 20th & 22nd

This October mark’s the Superwoman Project’s First Annual Superwoman Summit.  Featuring over 35 speakers who represent various professions and causes, this event is a 3 day experience that speaks on the subject of women’s empowerment.  Founder, Jessica Williams, says “Empowering strong leaders is the most important issue of our time.  Empower a woman and you empower the world.”  If you want to increase your impact or learn from those who seek to empower others, grab a ticket.

More Than Pink – October 22nd

It’s breast cancer awareness month!  Woodburn Premium Outlets has teamed up with Susan G. Komen to help in the fight against breast cancer.  The shopping center is promoting a “More Than Pink” campaign where shoppers can shop, support breast cancer awareness initiatives, and save money.  If you make a donation, you’ll receive a special discount card for 25% off one item at popular stores of the property. They’ve also guaranteed that 100% of the proceeds from the Discount Card will be donated to reach the foundation’s goal of $2,000,000 by September 2018.  Further, as part of the campaign, Woodburn Premium Outlets will host a ticketed event, the Paint it PINK party, on October 22 with Bottle & Bottega. Guests can also have their photo taken at the Princess Photobooth for the Cause on October 31 with a $10 donation benefiting Susan G. Komen.
