Halloween is in the air and there are so many ways to celebrate in Portland with pumpkin farms, haunted houses and costume parties – too many to list here!  Check out Portland Events if you want to find the right one for you.  We’ve got some unique ways to celebrate the season along with some Halloween-alternative options for those of you who aren’t feeling pumpkin season…classic arcade games anyone?

Arcade game expo – Oct 19th-21st

Retro Gaming Expo, Inc. is an organization dedicated to creating awareness and appreciation for classic video and arcade games by celebrating the historic contribution video games have made in popular culture.  Come help celebrate at the Oregon Convention Center and play classic video games, watch tournaments and participate in events. Put simply, its 30,000 square feet of full-size arcade games and pinball machines. All awesome and all set to freeplay. It’s like a museum that you can touch – pay one admission price and play all weekend.

Portland Trailblazers – Oct 18th, 20th & 22nd

The season official has begun!  The Blazers start the opening stretch of the 2018-2019 season at the Moda Center with games tonight, Saturday and Monday.  First up?  LeBron James and the LA Lakers, tonight at 7:30!  With the recent loss of Paul Allen, will the team be able to rally to dedicate a winning season to him?  Will LeBron help another team with the NBA Championship?  Find out the answers to these and many more questions as the Blazers kick of the NBA season!

Pumpkin regatta festival – Oct 20th

West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta is a race across the lake in giant pumpkins, plus a 5K run, pumpkin carving, music, entertainment, kids’ crafts, costume contest, and food & drink vendors at the Tualatin Lake of the Commons.  Because why wouldn’t you race gigantic pumpkins on the water?!? Admission to the festival is free as are most of the activities. Food and souvenirs will be available for purchase.

Downtown race – Oct 21st

Run Like Hell! returns on Sunday self-described as the spookiest run in town.  The event includes a half marathon, 10K, and 5K which all begin and end at Pioneer Courthouse Square.  Join thousands of runners to hit the streets of Portland dressed up in their favorite costumes!  Stick around after for the super-fun post-race party with costume contest, live music, great food, tasty beer or cider and more!  This year’s theme is Willy Wonka!

Halloween acrobats – Oct 19th-20th & 26th-28th

Join Night Flight’s 8th Annual Fright Night – A Halloween Circus!  This year we are thrilled to announce that Fright Night will be accompanied by the gorgeous live music of Fever, who blends haunting and sultry blues ballads with witchy Latin pop and cabaret fusion to create a truly unique sound that is always unforgettable.  This year’s event includes goblins swinging on aerial silks, dancing black light skeletons, a ghost spinning on the trapeze, and fairy royalty twirling on aerial straps at Alberta Rose Theatre.  This show is considered to be ‘PG13’ – Minors are ok when accompanied by a parent or guardian.
