Hello, weekend!  Now that we are finished celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, we can officially move into our first spring weekend! Flowers are blooming, sports are going, and the family friendly activities are abundant.  Keep reading!

 

Trail Blazers vs Boston Celtics – March 23rd

Unless you’re a Celtic’s fan, leave the St. Patrick’s Day Weekend fashion at home.  Let’s rally for Portland at the Moda Center!  Starting at 7pm, come cheer on the Blazers as they take on the Boston Celtics!

 

Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival – March 23rd – April 29th

One our of favorite flower festivals is officially here!  Starting on Friday, March 23rd, the Iverson family invites you to explore and appreciate all things that make spring in the Pacific Northwest great.  It’s called the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival, and it’s sure to please people of all ages.  There will be 40 acres of stunning beauty, experience expansive views of vineyards, distant mountains, and even a few mud puddles for you to stroll through. Feel free to bring your well-behaved leashed dogs too.  There will be plenty of fresh flowers, food, and fun for the entire family.

 

Bricks Cascade – March 24th – March 25th

Mind-blowing lego creations at Bricks Cascade?  Yes, please!  Some of these builders are children, others are older, and that’s what makes this event incredible.  The talent and diversity ranges, and are inspired from anything and everything. There will be themes from movies, pop culture, vehicles, spaceships.. the possibilities with legos are endless! If you decide to visit, you’ll be able to vote on your favorite creation.  Once the votes are in, the People’s Choice winner is given special recognition at the closing ceremonies of the Builders’ Convention!

 

Outside the Cup: Naturally Dyeing Eggs – March 24th

Dyeing eggs… for many cultures, it’s a symbol of renewal and rebirth. While there are synthetic dyes in modern times, plant based colors and teas were the best options for this ancient practice.  Some of the best designers even used simple tools and materials to create vibrant patterns. When you finish learning all about the art, you’ll be on your way with plenty of your own hand-decorated and naturyally-dyed eggs.  You’ll even know how to make more at home.  No experience necessary, just show up with fans of all ages and channel your creativity in a new way.

 

Pokemon Regional Championships 2018 – March 24th – 25th

This is the biggest Pokémon party in the Northwest… need we say more?  There is a video game and trading card game championships, and this year, you’ll be entertained even if you don’t participate.  There’s a new expanded side event area with a variety of options to enjoy your time.  There will be vendors, a revamped Prize wall, Pokémon Go events, Pokémon tournaments and possibly some Cosplay events.  If you love all things Pokémon , then you gotta catch em all weekend long.  Have fun!
