Hello, weekend! March is here and it is delivering so much fun! There will be yummy food, an all-American car show, a yarn crawl (yes, this is a thing!) and a colorful jazz performance. There’s a little something for everyone over the next few days. To get the most out of the next few days, keep an open mind so you don’t miss out on all these unique experiences.
Portland Dining Month – March 1st – 31st
If you love to eat food, you’re in luck. Starting in 2009, Portland has been celebrating our growing dining scene for Portland Dining Month. All it takes is $33 to enjoy a three-course meal at your favorite restaurants and the ones you’ve been dying to try. And if you happen to book on OpenTable, Portland Dining Month will make a donation to the Oregon Food Bank. Amazing!
Chevrolet Corvette Exhibit – March 1st – April 15th
The Chevrolet Corvette Exhibit kicked off quietly in January, but you’re in luck, this car show will be around all month long. Owning a Corvette became an American phenomenon, giving other post-war sporty European cars a run for their money. The exhibit honors this car as part of history, and recognizes the Chevy Corvette as the first great American sports car. This is a fun, family-friendly event, so if you’re in town, you can stop by with car enthusiasts of all ages.
Rose City Yarn Crawl – March 1st – 4th
Knitters, crocheters, felters and macrame designers– this event is for you! The Rose City Yarn Crawl will let you explore all the fibers that are in Portland’s local shops. If you would love to explore the wonderful world of yarn, make your way from shop to shop to snag wonderful deals and some inspiration for your next project. You’ll also be able to play along and win fantastic prizes as you earn stamps on your event passport. Click here for more information.
Aurora Chorus International Women’s Day Concert Celebration – March 4th
There will be over 90 strong and beautiful voices singing as Portland’s all-female Aurora Chorus celebrates International Women’s Day. They will be performing with songs of resistance, persistence and courage that honor the strength of women’s voices. This will be the group’s fifth annual weekend concert, and it’s titled, Sisters, You Keep Me Fighting. Just in case you wanted to see powerful influencers, you’re in luck. This year’s performance features guest artists Beth Wood and Ara Lee (“Nasty Women”).
