Hello Weekend!  We are officially in June starting Friday, and Portland is happy to celebrate its arrival with several events.  As the Rose Festival continues to celebrate with the waterfront festival over the weekend, there will be a flower show, a biking event, pop-up shops, a cosplay convention, a parade and a concert.  Sounds like fun if you ask us!  Keep reading!

Festival of Flowers – June 1st – 15th

Festival of Flowers at Pioneer Courthouse Square takes place in the heart of downtown Portland each year. Members of the Square work with a number of local artists and designers to create a carefully crafted masterpiece by using almost 20,000 flowers and planst.  This year’s feature will not disappoint!  Plus, starting on June 13th, all flowers from the exhibit will be available for purchase.

Pedalpalooza 2018 – June 1st – 30th

Pedalpalooza is month long bike-friendly event that takes place in various towns in Oregon starting this weekend.  There will be over 100 different events, and several of them are organized by some of the most passionate local bikers Oregon has to offer.  Most events are free, and several are family friendly!  It doesn’t matter if you own a bike or need to rent one, this event welcomes bike enthusiasts of all ages and skill sets.

FindPDX – June 2nd & 3rd

If you were looking for a fantastic pop-up shop to enjoy over the weekend, FindPDX is here.  Thanks to the generous donations, there will be thousands of new items that start at 50% off the lowest retail price you can find online. You’ll also be shopping for a cause!  All proceeds from the sale will benefit survivors of domestic violence.

Fandom PDX 2018 – June 2nd & 3rd

The event formerly known as Newcon PDX and Anime PDX is back with a new name.  Fandom PDX will be celebrating “all things geek.”  This includes cosplay, video games, anime, and more.  There will also be special celebrity guests, so if you would love to meet and hangout with a crowd who loves the fantasy world as much as you do, stop by!

Starlight Run + Parade – June 2nd

First you run, then you watch!  The Rose City Festival continues on this weekend and is featuring the 40th annual Starlight Run that will start at Lincoln High School.  Then, once the run ends, you’ll be able to enjoy the Portland General Electric/SOLVE Starlight Parade!  This includes everything from marching bands, floats, and various community groups.  They all promise to dazzle your eyes with lights and glow-in-the-dark accessories.  Grab a group of friends and family members and head downtown for an evening to remember.

Sir Mix-A-Lot – June 2nd

Guess what?  Sir Mix-A-Lot promises to put on a great party in Portland this weekend.  He will be headlining the show around 8pm, and DJ Rock will open the show starting at 7pm.  Your admission to CityFair includes this concert! If you have $8 and want to dance the night away, head down to Governor Tom McCall Waterfront Park.
