TechFest NW – April 5th & 6th
Portland State University is giving you a sneak peak into weekend fun because this event is on Thursday and Friday only. TechFest NW is featuring the best of technology. There’s three fields you can see the latest and greatest advancements in: Food and Agriculture Tech, Health Tech, and Smart Cities/Smart Transit Tech. There’s something for everyone, especially if you’re native to Oregon. If you want to network and mingle with the faces behind the coolest gadgets and startup companies, you’ll get to hang out with them before the weekend fun begins.
Scholar’s Arts April 5th – 30th
This April at Lan Su Chinese Garden, you’ll be able to learn about and celebrate classical Chinese art. Each week there will be demonstrations, poetry readings and live music to bring traditional Chinese scholars’ art to you and your friends. We even here there will be a popular calligraphy exhibit and workshop. Visit the Lan Su Chinese Garden for their monthly line up of events, and then swing by to join in the fun by April 30th.
The Multnomah Village Market April 6th – September 7th
This week marks the very first time that the Multnomah Village Market will be up and running. Each first Friday of the month, you’ll be able to enjoy live music and yummy food as you shop for handmade arts and crafts, clothing, and accessories. Bring your wallet and come hungry!
PUGSfest 2018
Calling avid learners of all ages! This Saturday, you’ll be able to enjoy four one-hour sessions that are presented by the Portland Underground Graduate School. Known to most as PUGSfest, you’ll start the day by listening to a dozen speakers pitch their ideas for three minutes each while you mingle and sip on coffee. From there, you’ll be able to chose which four sessions you would like to attend throughout the day. Hot topics include Belmont’s Electric Streetcar, Breaking Free from Opressive Normativity, Sparking Activism with Hip Hop and Spoken Word, and Wishcraft: Utilizing Community Energy to Solve Problems.
NW Kids 2018 Summer Camp Expo – April 7th
Are you thinking about sending your kids to camp this summer? If you want to send your child somewhere new, look no further. The NW Kids Magazine is presenting a free event at the OMSI. It’s the NW Kids 2018 Summer Camp Expo – and event those who want to learn all about the best summer camp options. ! DIY Natural Lotions and Balms Class – April 7th
Does your skin need a little TLC as the weather transitions over from winter to spring? You’ll be able to learn how to make all natural moisturizers that will last you for weeks! During this class you’ll be able to make a balm, lotion bar, and hand lotion. And yes, these are creations you can take home with you.
