February 14th – 20th is Random Acts of Kindness Week! A celebration of all the ways we can become a positive influence in each other’s lives. Even one small act of kindness can mean a great deal to somebody. In a day and age when it’s so easy to get caught up in our own worlds that we forget to check in with the people around us as often as we should, you realize that not everyone receives the kind of support they need. Random Acts of Kindness reminds us to think of others for a little while and to spread a little love. A small and random gesture of kindness can go a long way.
So, the RDF team decided to celebrate this week by assigning anonymous “RAK-ers” to practice Random Acts of Kindness amongst each other all throughout the week. We used the same concept as ‘Secret Santa,’ and each participant was randomly assigned another team member to treat anonymously! And these random acts could be an encouraging note or a gift, and the acts could be spread throughout the week or on just one day. It was so much fun making time in our days to put smiles on each other’s faces. Check out some of the cool things we did for one another!
