You’re probably familiar with RDF’s Annual Opt Outdoors contest, which is a big hit in our office! We kicked off this yearly competition in 2018, and since then, as a team, we’ve collectively hiked over 996 miles, and spent 114 nights camping under the stars – how cool is that?!
Well this year, we changed the “contest” a little bit. Instead, we’re calling it our ‘COVID Bucket List Challenge,’ and while we’re still encouraging each other to get outdoors, the twist is that we’re also asking everyone to revisit some of those favorite spots that we took for granted when everything was closed down. This ‘COVID-19 era’ has made us realize just how quickly our world can change. So, RDF has decided to encourage each other to savor the little things and seize every moment – whether that’s trying something new, enjoying a familiar spot, or wandering around your favorite trail!
To begin, everyone came up with their list of ‘Top 10’ places and activities. Many of the items on our lists, sadly, we still aren’t able to accomplish just yet, like shopping at Powells, or enjoying a yummy latte in your favorite coffee shop, but we’ve found ways to capture the joy of summer in Oregon & get outside. Here’s a few photos of some of our adventures!
We get to eat out again!
Let’s go kayaking
Oh, how I missed this fried chicken!
Let’s try some rock art!
I’ve always wanted to go sailing
It feels good to camp out with family!
Smith Rock is open for business – Let’s go climbing!
Glad to be back on the trails
We’re grateful for the culture we’ve created here at RDF, and we think it’s important to highlight some of the things we do together as a team. For more community highlights, you can follow us on Facebook or Instagram.
