Hello, weekend!  Its getting hard to deny that fall is in the air.  This brings much joy to those on Team Grey here at RDF!  We’ve got our weekly slate of events that allow you to celebrate both!

Time-Based Art Festival – September 14-16

PICA’s Time-Based Art Festival engages Portland with contemporary art projects that bring artists and audiences together, creating a vibrant event with live performances, music, screenings, workshops, talks, and visual art installations.  TBA is interdisciplinary, and champions those artists who are challenging forms and working across mediums.

Tickets and passes can be purchased online through PICA.org, by phone at 503-224-PICA (7422) and at the TBA Central Box Office at Portland Institute for Contemporary Art, 15 NE Hancock St., Portland OR.

FEAST – September 14-16

Unleash your inner foodie at Feast Portland.  This 21+ festival is in its 7th year of celebrating all things food & drink.  From spirited one-of-a-kind large-scale events featuring trendsetting chefs from all over the country and the world, to intimate hands-on classes, collaborative dinners and panels, Feast offers some of the most compelling experiences and original programming in the modern food festival conversation.

Sidewalk chalk art – September 15th

One of Washington County’s most popular events, the Sidewalk Chalk Art Festival has been taking place for over 25 years!  The event is open for anyone to participate, no matter what your artistic skills.  There is no charge to stroll through downtown Forest Grove and see everyone’s creativity on display.  If you want to try your hand at a drawing, the cost is $7 for Valley Art Members, $12 for non-members, and includes a tray of brilliant colorful chalk and a square of downtown Forest Grove sidewalk for the day.

Cider Squeeze – September 15th

Nothing says fall like freshly squeezed cider.  Head to Phillip Foster Farm in Eagle Creek this weekend to enjoy Cider Squeeze featuring cider pressing, food, live music, blacksmith demonstrations, and tours of the farm.  You can purchase per-squeezed apple cider or bring your own to squeeze at the festival!

Portland Thorns NWSL Semifinal Game – September 15th

The Thorns take on the Seattle Reign at noon on Saturday in the first Semi-final of NWSL Playoffs at Providence Park!  The final is on September 22nd and could be a home game if the Thorns can pull off a win!  Due to Hurricane Florence – the second semi-final has been relocated to Providence Park next Tuesday where the North Carolina Courage takes on the Chicago Red Stars.
