This weekend, we encourage you to get in touch with your body! From soil on your hands, to sugar on your tongue, to air beneath your feet; we have some truly grounding events to bring a serene smile to your face this weekend!
May 3rd – 5th – Rose City Chocolate Festival
The Rose City Chocolate Festival is a weekend of pure indulgence and chocolate bliss! Dozens of local chocolatiers will come together to exhibit their decadent delights at the Double Tree Hilton hotel in NE Portland. These treats are meticulously crafted to satisfy your sweet tooth, but that’s not its only benefit. The cacao bean has also been proven to uplift your mood by triggering serotonin and dopamine production in the brain! Some of these creations are almost too beautiful to eat. “Almost” being the key phrase here… because we will totally eat them.
May 4th – 5th – Audubon Society Native Plant Sale
The volunteers at the Audubon Society are passionate about conservation, as well as helping gardeners celebrate the spring growing season. That’s why, this weekend, they will offer an interactive and educational plant sale focused on including native Oregon plants into local plots! If you want your garden to attract butterflies and hummingbirds, or for your yard to embrace the lush Oregon landscape, you’ll love this unique event in Forest Park!
May 4th – The Great Inflatable Race
The Great Inflatable Race was designed to bring people together for some good old-fashioned FUN. Their mission is to empower communities to support a common goal and to pursue social change in their every day lives… all while bouncing and playing on giant inflatables. These races are about joining, not about winning. Come out to the Portland Raceway! Get active and join these incredible folks in their movement to ignite a passion for health and community!
May 4th – Urban Yoga Hike
Tis the season for all things outdoorsy! Lucky for Oregonians, we don’t have to travel far in order to experience a verdant landscape. Spend some time in the sunshine at Mt Tabor this Saturday for a two-hour group hiking experience! Enjoy one of the best views in the city from a tree-covered yoga class, an intention-setting exercise, and a community picnic. Hosted by Urban Yoga Hike founder, Mary Wagstaff, this is a truly spectacular way to get in touch with the community, your body, and the earth beneath your feet.
