The write stuff!
Remember the good ole days of post cards and pen pals? Remember how happy you were to get that piece of mail? Recreate those memories, and share those positive vibes with your loved ones. Take this time to write actual letters to family and friends. After that? Write thank-you notes to your grocery store clerk, the garbage collector any other service person still working hard to help us maintain some type of normalcy during these times. Plus, the added bonus is that practicing gratitude is such a powerful tool for keeping a positive mindset.
This one is in-tents!
Clear out the family room or basement and camp indoors! You can use blankets and chairs, or if you have the room, use an actual tent and sleeping bags! And, since every camping trip is made better by the addition of smores, try some indoor marshmallow roasting. Tea candles are small and don’t put off a lot of heat, so you can easily light a few on plates and viola! If you have an actual fire place – even better! You can also find a camping sounds playlist online and tell scary stories to make it even more realistic!
Home improvement!
Rearrange your sock drawer, organize the craft closet, and throw out all your too-old makeup and products. You can also finally get around to fixing that broken doorknob, loose tile, or clean scuffed up walls. Doing housework as a positive activity and form of exercise can be therapeutic!
Self improvement!
Take time to reflect: What have you accomplished in the last year? What goals are you setting for yourself in the next year? Take time to acknowledge your accomplishments and making positive plans for the future is a great way to keep you constructive.
Check back every week for more fun suggestions of things to help keep you happy, healthy and active while your stuck indoors.
