August 28th: Sounds of Recovery

Sometimes you just need a little sound therapy, and I’m not talking about soundwaves. Most of us struggle with really “letting it out” so whatever “it” is for you, there is a spot here to help you make some noise. Alano Club is hosting this wonderful event for people to come together as artists in recovery to “express our creativity through the power of music, poetry, dance and more.” They are a wonderful group who strives to help individuals with recovery, whatever their path might be, so even if this event doesn’t interest you, you are guaranteed to find something that helps! August 29th: Oregon Short Film Festival!

For the past 8 years, Oregon has showcased a unique collection of short films from across the country to create this festival. Now you have the chance to see what up-and-coming moviemakers made the cut! With 8 hours of short films of all genres, there is guaranteed to be something that tickles your fancy.
