Free State Park Entrance
Choose to #OptOutside on Black Friday. Want a change of pace this Black Friday? Skip the hyper-consumerism and work off that holiday meal at your favorite state park. On Friday, November 26th, all 25 Oregon State Parks that charge $5 day-use parking fees will be free on November 26. The day is being celebrated as “Green Friday,” to encourage people to opt outside on Black Friday. This freebie includes lots of great parks close to home. Here’s a map of the 25 parks that are waiving day-use fee.
Free Fishing
Every year, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife invites reeling newbies and advanced anglers to participate in free fishing weekends. During these events, no fishing licenses or tags are required to fish, crab or clam in Oregon. This is a great opportunity for you to try out fishing, crabbing or clamming in Oregon without having to pay for an annual license. Even though these are free fishing days, fishing rules still apply. These include location closures, bag limits and size restrictions. Before planning your trip, be sure to brush up on Oregon fishing regulations.

Roller Skating
Zooming around the wooden oval rink to playful music with a kaleidoscope of colors illuminating room as we make a feeble attempt to defy gravity by holding on to friends and family. There are a lot of fond memories that come with roller skating. And we can relive all those childhood memories now that one of Portland’s last remaining roller rinks has reopened to the public. The Oaks Park Roller Rink offers year-round fun for Portlanders with skating available seven days a week. A three-hour time slot can be booked online in advance of your visit.

The Clackamas County Fairgrounds is transforming into a winter wonderland for the second year in a row.
