Rain showers, blooming flowers and lots of only-in-Portland things to do hit the calendar every Spring in Portland. The city bursts into bloom, as gorgeous rhododendrons, azaleas, cherry trees and roses come into full flower in parks, gardens, and yards all over town. Amidst spring showers, sun-breaks and dry days are common, and spring visitors are rewarded with lovely vistas and bountiful outdoor adventures. First Thursday in the Pearl District – April 7th

Started in 1986, First Thursday in the Pearl is a district-wide celebration that occurs on the first Thursday of each month. Originally a gathering of art collectors and dealers, the celebration has grown to a monthly event of over ten thousand people that includes art enthusiasts, wine aficionados, and scenesters looking to see and be seen. Art galleries in the district are all open late into the evening for receptions and new show openings. Many of the galleries offer food and drink while the artists showing are available to meet and discuss their work. Check it out!

Quilt, Craft & Sewing Festival – April 7th-9th

At the Quilt, Craft & Sewing Festival, you will find a wide variety of sewing, quilting, needle-art and craft supply exhibits from many quality companies, along with make ‘n’ takes, free demos, daily door prize drawings and more.

Spring Makers Market – April 9th

Hop into spring festivities while shopping from over 20 local vendors at the Spring Makers Market! Located at Taborspace, a community space located in SE Portland. Located in the Dining Room, the market will host a variety of small businesses and artists. Vendors include Royal Clips, Crafty by Marikay, Evil Twin, Charcuterie By Bri, Moonrise Crochet Co., and much more! Don’t miss out!

Roller Derby – April 9th

Visit the Oaks Amusement Park Roller Skating Rink to see the Break Neck Betties vs The High Rollers, in their first game of the year. You can buy your tickets here, or, if you volunteer with the Rose City Rollers you get to watch the games for free!

Rhododendron & Daffodil Show & Sale – April 9th – 10th

The Early Blooming Rhododendron and Daffodil Show returns to Crystal Springs. Presented by the Portland Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society and the Oregon Daffodil Society, this annual event showcases the best that early spring has to offer.
