Hello first day of March! We can just smell spring in the air…or at least we could if it would stop snowing for a hot second. This week, we bring you alcohol alternative events and activities to those living in Polk County. Specifically, we will focus on events in Monmouth, Rickreall, and Salem!

Spring Bunny Family Paint Class at Sweetly Baked: March 3rd

Have you been looking for a new creative outlet but don’t know where to start? Consider taking an art class for beginners (and bring the whole family!) The price is $25 and includes all the supplies you need to create a cute spring-themed art project. The event is being hosted at Sweetly Baked from 2-4pm, located at 680 Hawthorne Ave Southeast Salem, OR 97301.

Polk County Museum: March 2nd

Get a little history of the county you live in by visiting the Polk County Museum this weekend! The museum first opened in 1991 and has a trove of treasures from the area on display. It’s only $5.00 for adults to enter, $1 for kids 6-17, and free for kids under 6. It would be a great learning experience for the whole family, plus a good indoor activity while the weather is still screaming winter. And bonus, you’ll be supporting a local non-profit! The museum can be found at: 5650 S. Pacific Hwy W, Rickreall, OR 97371.

Spring Awakening: March 1st-9th

Support the local WOU (Western Oregon University) theater students by seeing their latest play, “Spring Awakening” this weekend. Tickets range from $14.00 for the general public and $10.00 for WOU faculty, staff, vets, and seniors. “Spring Awakening” is about the journey from adolescence to adulthood, with a great soundtrack that got it eight Tony’s, including Best Musical. The play is being shown at Rice Auditorium, 344 Knox St. N, Monmouth, OR 97361.
