December 21 – 23rd – Portland’s Christmas Street
If you’ve never heard of Peacock Lane this is a must-see event, for sure! Peacock Lane is a four-block street in the Southeast area known for its amazing display of fully decorated homes. Thousands of people come view the houses every Christmas season, and the street was officially listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2017! The houses are adorned with not only beautiful sparkling lights, but also nativity scenes, rotating Christmas trees and stunningly life-like replicas of Santa and Frosty. It’s a spectacle you don’t want to miss – and it’s free! Just make sure you park several blocks away and walk to the street as the crowds can get quite thick.
December 21 – 23rd – Holiday Pop-Up Shop
This year My People’s Market is hosting a Holiday Pop-Up Shop, located at the Lloyd Center. The shop unites over 30 multicultural brands to create the first holiday pop-up shop in Portland that focuses on diversity of talents, creativities, designs, products and gifts. The event is free to get in, features live music and can easily be found on the second floor across the way from Made In Oregon.
December 21 – 23rd – Winter Wonderland
Can you ever really get enough lights during this time of year? We didn’t think so. Recognized throughout the Pacific Northwest as the “Largest Holiday Light Show West of the Mississippi”, the 25rd annual Winter Wonderland will grab your attention with glimmers and glows around every corner. Since 1993, a journey through Winter Wonderland has become a holiday tradition for many families, friends, and social organizations to celebrate the spirit of the holiday season. Spectators can enjoy the most spectacular drive-through light show in the region, viewing hundreds of colorful light set pieces and many fully animated scenes from the comfort of their own vehicle. The event is $20 and is being held at the Portland International Raceway.
