Not everything is as it seems – and this weekend is a perfect example of that. You can check out a mystic marketplace, a sober bar and a rock show that doesn’t have music. If you’re looking for something out-of-the-ordinary to pique your interests this weekend, there is no shortage of options.
March 6 – 8th – Rock show!
Not that kind of rock show. This is the Tualatin Valley Gem Club 62nd Rock & Gem Show, presented by the Tualatin Valley Gem Club. You can see rocks, minerals, gems, jewelry, fossils, and beads when you visit the Forest Grove Armory. There will an active ‘Kids’ Corner’, hand-crafted jewelry and window hangings for sale, and you will have an opportunity to watch club members cut, grind, and polish dazzling stones. Admission is only $1 and kids 12 & under get in free!
March 7th – ‘Sober Bar’ pop-up!
Lots of folks choose not to drink for various reasons and still want to have somewhere to go to connect socially with others and have fun. If this resonates with you, then Sans Bar National + DRY Pop Up Tour 2020 is the place to check out this weekend. Sans Bar is based out of Austin, Texas and is all about inclusion and creating a diverse community of alcohol free friends. On the 2020 tour they plan to replicate the warm, upscale environment they have become known for in their hometown. They feature world class performers, authentic conversation, and elevated zero proof cocktails created with beverage from specific product sponsors. Head on down to the NW side of town this weekend to enjoy a unique, sober-bar experience!
March 7th – Use your noggin!
See lots of exhibits about the human brain during O.H.S.U. Brain Fair in the auditorium at OMSI. Discover the amazing things our brains can do – Science fans of all ages will be fascinated by hands-on exhibits, displays and more. The best part about the experience is that it’s FREE. The fair begins at 10:00 a.m. and is sure to attract a lot of visitors. Maybe we’ll see you there!
March 7 – 8th – Mystic marketplace!
Are you fascinated by wizardry, mythical creatures or parallel universes? No, we’re not inviting you to the planet Thra (Dark Crystal fans will get the reference). But a close second might be the Psychic Fair & Metaphysical Market taking place this weekend. You’ll find tarot and oracle readings, palmistry, Norse runes, crystals, books, and art for sale at the 6th Annual Tarot Conference, hosted by the Northwest Tarot Symposium. The FREE event is taking place at the Monarch Hotel in Clackamas – check it out!
