In true Portland fashion, this weekend has no shortage of fun, unique things to do. Filled with celebration, lights, food, tradition, and basketball, is there anywhere else you’d rather be???
Chines New Year Celebration – Now through February 15th
Welcome the Year of the Tiger at Lan Su Chinese Garden! The Garden will be celebrating the New Year with cultural programming, family-friendly activities, and eight nights of traditional Lantern Viewing Evenings. The festival starts beyond the garden walls this year, and ticket prices are $35 for members, $45 for general admission, and children ages 3-11 are only $15! Get your tickets here.
Dumpling Week – Now through February 5th
Every February, Portland celebrates its love for dough-wrapped delights with Dumpling Week, a citywide celebration, sponsored by Travel Portland, featuring inventive dumpling creations that you won’t find anywhere (or anytime) else. Participating restaurants will serve up special dumplings not available on their regular menus, with each plate going for $12 or less, for dining in, take-out and/or delivery.
Winter Light Festival – Now through February 12th
Every year, the Portland Winter Light Festival transforms the City of Roses into a city of lights. Designed to bring light to the wintry darkness, this free festival returns every winter with imaginative works that combine light and technology to create interactive experiences. This year the festival will be featured in a pop-up-like format where light art installations will appear all throughout the city instead of a centralized location. For maps of installation locations, visit the Portland Winter Light Festival’s website.
Trailblazers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder – February 4th
Watch the Portland Trail Blazers take on the Oklahoma City Thunder in this regular-season NBA game. Cheer along with Rip City at the Moda Center and become part of a Portland tradition. Get your tickets here.
