Summer is the season of celebration, and weekend festivals are the perfect place to do it! What are we celebrating, you ask? Well, just about anything you can imagine. This weekend, you can take your pick! We’ve highlighted four fun festivals for you to enjoy with friends and family. Get out there and get festive!
August 2nd – 4th – Pickathon
Pickathon is a music festival that celebrates and showcases indie artists of all genres, as well as the eco-friendly PNW lifestyle. This is a multi-stage event with up and coming musicians as well as big names like headliner Nathaniel Rateliff. If dancing barefoot in the forest, being exposed to new music, and supporting a greener lifestyle resonate with you, then you have to check this out! Make sure you bring your own water bottle, as Pickathon has moved away from single use plastics, and remember that ample bike parking is available!
August 2nd – 3rd – Tualatin Crawfish Festival
When you hear the word ‘crawfish’, you might think of the south. Well, the folks in Tualatin are bringing our focus north-west for the Tualatin Crawfish Festival! This event is full of summer vibes! Kids will have a blast at the watermelon eating contest, having their face painted, and frolicking in the bubble pit. Grown-ups will enjoy tons of local vendors, classic rock cover bands like Petty Fever, and of course, crawfish galore.
August 3rd – 2019 Chinese Festival
Celebrate Chinese American culture this weekend with visually stunning performances, authentic Chinese arts and crafts, amazing Chinese food, and nonstop entertainment! This is the first Chinese Festival of its kind in Portland. Festivities will commence all day long with lion dances, martial arts, Chinese folk music, and a beautiful fashion show. Come celebrate Portland’s Chinese American community at Pioneer Courthouse Square!
August 3rd – Fremont Fest
The people of Portland take pride in their neighborhoods! This weekend, the community of Beaumont Village is excited to show us what their neighborhood is all about. The Fremont Fest celebration will be full of fun for all ages and all interests. Whether your kiddos are sporty, artsy, brainy, or all of the above, Fremont Fest’s KidZone will be wildly entertaining! The all-ages Pop Up Party will bring a smile to everyone’s face as they enjoy local food, music, and bargain shopping. Getting acquainted Portland’s communities is a wonderful reason to celebrate!
