There’s nothing more American than fun, family and, of course, fireworks — and Portland’s awesome array of annual Independence Day celebrations promises plenty of all three. This weekend, we’re sharing a list from TravelPortland.com to bring you everything 4th of July!
One of the city’s biggest annual events, the downtown Waterfront Blues Festival. Every Fourth of July weekend, the Waterfront Blues Festival takes over downtown Portland’s Waterfront Park and attracts thousands of blues fans from around the world. It’s also the best perch in town to catch Portland’s July 4 fireworks.
Additionally, many of Portland’s other parks, like Mt. Tabor, Sellwood, and the International Rose Garden are also excellent choices to watch the firework show. You can also score prime viewing at Oaks Amusement Park where rides and rollerskating hours will be extended with the 4th of July Spectacular. Admission includes all-day access to all of the rides, free first-come, first-serve picnic grounds, and Portland’s best fireworks display.
You can also pick from a wide range of regional Fourth of July fetes, like the St. Paul Rodeo, Hood River Fireworks, and the Chamber Music Northqwest Festival!
